MyGuide® Professional Development

Ongoing professional development moves teachers beyond the basics into adept delivery of truly effective differentiated instruction.

Teachers are supported with tools and instructional strategies for heterogeneous groups based on leveled content and different learning modalities, as well as for ELL students and other diverse learners. Professional development is designed around district goals and ensures smooth implementation. Flexible options include:

  • On site foundation training of instructional staff
  • Workshops in differentiated instruction for teacher groups and individual teacher classrooms
  • Workshops targeted for administrators at schools and district offices
  • Ongoing structured support provided for teachers extending beyond MyGuide instruction

 

Vicki Gibson on Differentiated Instruction

Vicki Gibson Differentiated InstructionThe MyGuide Personal Learning Program Professional Development Services are designed with the input of Vicki Gibson, noted expert in differentiated instruction. Dr. Gibson is the author, with Dr. Jan Hasbrouck, of Differentiated Instruction, Grouping for Success and is a veteran of 30 years in the classroom. She currently works as a national consultant, teacher trainer, and author.

I tutored math students in the afterschool program.  I did not have any familiarity with these students when they came for help.  The Guide gave me the opportunity to quickly assess students’ weaknesses and strengths which allowed me to focus on the areas they needed.
